Scholarship Deadline:  April 15th (must be postmarked by April 15th)

Number of Recipients:  One award offered annually

Award amount:  $2,500 annually, non-renewable.  The Scholarship will be in the form of a check made payable to the accredited post secondary institution of higher education attended by the scholarship recipient (once the scholarship recipient has enrolled in an accredited post secondary institution of higher education and submitted proof of enrollment to the sponsor).  The scholarship recipient must submit proof of enrollment on or before 31 August.  Scholarship is awarded in split disbursement (1 September & 1 January). 

In the event of a tie scholarship will be split between the top two applicants. 
If applicants do not met criteria scholarship will not be award. 

  •  Must have a minimum 3.0 GPA and provide an official copy of your transcript in a sealed envelope
  •  African-American graduating senior, current college student or returning adult
  •  Must be a legal U.S. resident
  •  Must be a resident of one of the 50 United States or the District of Columbia
  •  Complete the Veterinary Scholarship Form
  •  Provide two letters of reference in a sealed envelope
  •  Provide proof of full-time enrollment in a college or university
  •  A 500-750 words or less essay on of the following topic:
      In your words explain why are you pursuing a degree in the Veterinarian career field
  • Resume (include achievements, honors, community service and school involvement)

Applications must be postmarked by April 15th.
Scholarship recipients will be announced June 1st.
Winner(s) are notified via email. 
Scholarships are paid directly to the school.
